Join us november 17 in yakima
Yakima Valley Community College, the Washington Student Achievement Council, Catholic Family & Child Service and the College Success Foundation are excited to co-host a special training on the topic of trauma stewardship for young people from foster care and the educators, social workers and community members who support them.
Our keynote presenter, Laura van Dernoot Lipsky is the founder and director of the Trauma Stewardship Institute, and the author of Trauma Stewardship: an Everyday Guide to Caring for Self While Caring for Others. She is an internationally acclaimed trainer with a down-to-earth style and powerful message. You can see her 2015 TED talk here.
Laura's presentation will focus on how we manage trauma exposure, strengthen natural resilience and pursue our goals – even in the midst of local, national and global challenges. While she will specifically address topics related to foster care and higher education, the content of her presentation will be relevant for many students and educators.
