Proposal forms are due Wednesday, March 11.

The focus of this year’s conference stems from the Seven Life Domains framework – originally published by Dr. Yvonne Unrau at Western Michigan University as part of its Fostering Success Coaching Model.

The Seven Life Domains framework was adapted from Casey Family Programs’ identification of seven key life domains that impact success in college and life. The framework acknowledges that while education is the central focus, stability in other life domains is integrally tied to the understanding of what alumni of foster care need to thrive and succeed in college. Our conference will be focusing on the whole journey – all of the supports and interventions important for a student’s success in postsecondary.

Your presentation should address one or more of the following domains:

  1. Academics and Education
  2. Housing
  3. Finances and Employment
  4. Physical and Mental Health
  5. Social Relationships and Community
  6. Connections
  7. Personal and Cultural Identity
  8. Life Skills

All sessions will be 75 minutes in duration. We encourage presenters to use active, creative, and/or experiential presentation styles.

Are you on the fence about a proposal idea? Of do you have an idea, but you’re not sure if it will translate well to the conference workshop format?
