Trauma informed care (TIC) means seeing the whole person and taking into account past trauma, and resulting coping mechanisms, when attempting to understand behaviors and provide support to students. TIC basics are essential tools for those who work with students from foster care. This 2-hour training will cover TIC fundamentals and attendees will learn about:

1. The types of trauma
2. The effects of trauma
3. Common reactions to trauma reminders
4. The role of resilience
5. Self care for professionals

The training will be tailored to be relevant for professionals working in post-secondary access and post-secondary success environments.
