Emergency Funding

Passport Scholar Persistence Fund

Our office will be closed from December 24, 2025, to January 5th. PSPF requests submitted during this time will experience a delay with the application process.

Help with the Unexpected

College Success Foundation recognizes unexpected expenses can cause problems for students on a tight budget. We don’t want unforeseen financial challenges to get in the way of Passport Scholars’ educational progress!

The Passport Scholar Persistence Fund (PSPF) request is an application to receive short-term and/or one-time financial assistance for unexpected/unavoidable financial emergencies that directly impact or jeopardize continued enrollment in college. PSPF funds are available to Passport Scholars who are currently enrolled in college or actively working to re-enroll in college.

Am I Eligible?

Applicants must be confirmed eligible for the Passport to Careers Scholarship. If you need to verify your eligibility, please contact the Passport to Careers program administrator.

For currently enrolled students or students in the process of re-enrolling:

You have a financial need that is directly impacting your continued college enrollment or ability to re-enroll

You must have a completed financial aid application (FAFSA/WASFA)

For currently enrolled students, you are attending an eligible Washington State college or university

Situations Eligible for Funding Could Include:

  • Fees associated with enrollment (e.g., application fees, placement-test fees, housing deposits, class material license purchases, transportation costs, etc.
  • Remaining tuition balances, certification licensing exam fees, etc.
  • Fees associated with graduation
  • Personal living such as food, housing, utilities, transportation, and childcare
  • Medical, dental, or mental health emergencies not covered by insurance
  • Books and supplies
  • Computer/laptop repair or potential replacement
  • Owed balances to a post-secondary institution (for students re-enrolling in college)

What is the Award Amount?

PSPF award amounts typically range from $50 – $1,000. The award amount varies based on the circumstance and the student’s financial need and is up to the discretion of the PSPF committee.

Please note: limited funds remain for the current academic year. We encourage you to connect with your campus support staff to discuss available resources.
