WPN Webinar: Basic Needs and Post-secondary Education Student Support Services

Nearly half of all Washington college students reported experiencing in housing and/or food insecurity in a recent survey.  In this session, you’ll gain insights about Washington students’ experience of basic needs insecurity and recent policy and investments to address those challenges.  We’ll discuss strategies and student outcomes from the Supporting Students Experiencing Homelessness grant program.  You’ll learn about new initiatives to better address students’ basic needs, and together we’ll consider collaboration opportunities with Passport.

Presenters:

Ami Magisos serves as Associate Director of Strategy and Partnerships at Washington Student Achievement Council.  Her work focuses on understanding and addressing students’ basic needs insecurity for postsecondary students in Washington.

Laura Coghlan serves as Program Administrator for Supporting Students Experiencing Homelessness at the State Board for Technical and Community Colleges. She is also a member of the Passport Leadership Team.
