Announcing the 2023 Passport to Careers State Conference

The two-day event will bring together professionals who provide student support for high school and college students who have experienced foster care or unaccompanied homelessness in their career goals. Since 2008, the Passport to Careers program has served over 5,000 students pursuing a college degree or apprenticeship program.

“After three years of online convenings, we are excited to be back in person for this year’s conference,” notes Donna Quach, Washington Passport Network Program Manager. “We will provide many opportunities for participants to network before and during the conference. Through the Whova platform, attendees will be able to connect with others who have similar roles or work in similar organizations. In addition, we will have social networking opportunities throughout the program. Our goal as a network is to increase the shared knowledge in the field and share resources widely.”

The conference will include keynote speakers Senator Yasmin Trudeau and King County prosecutor Maggie Qermi, and a panel of presenters with lived experience. There will be twelve workshops that focus on understanding the basics of the Passport to Careers program, highlighting successful collaborations, and sharing the insights of those with lived experiences to shape and direct programming.

Early bird registration is $190 and is available until March 31. Full-price registration will be available for $275 until May 12. The conference is being held at the SeaTac Doubletree by Hilton and a group rate is available for hotel accommodations.
