Presenters:

Rebecca Liao-Cance — Assistant Director, College Success Programs

Rebecca Liao-Cance is a first-generation Taiwanese American who began her journey at Washington State University as a transfer student, earning both her bachelor’s degree in Psychology and her master’s degree in Counseling Psychology. She has spent 12 years supporting student success at WSU as an academic advisor, helping students navigate their academic paths and achieve their goals. In her current role as Assistant Director for the College Success Program, she continues this work by supporting the Passport to College team at WSU.

Zach Halvorson — Coordinator Lead, Passport to College

Raised in the Palouse, Zach Halvorson has spent his career dedicated to supporting students at every stage of their educational journey. After working in an after-school program in Oregon, he returned home to earn a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Idaho. He went on to spend eight years teaching 7–12 English, bringing a deep commitment to literacy and student growth into the classroom. Today, Zach works with Washington State University’s Passport to College program, helping students navigate the path to higher education.

Kevin Sette — Student and Passport to College Peer Advisor

Kevin Sette is finishing his final year at Washington State University, where he has made a lasting impact as both a Peer Advisor with Passport to College and a member of the ROTC. Throughout his time as a Peer Advisor, Kevin has approached every challenge with dedication and care, making real differences in the lives of the students he serves. His commitment to excellence was recognized last year when he was named WSU’s Student Employee of the Year — an honor that reflects the passion and distinction he brings to his work every day.
