MAY 9: At A Glance

Washington State’s Passport to College Promise Program is designed to strengthen the post-secondary pipeline for students who have experienced foster care.  The Passport to College State Conference builds the capacity of professionals supporting education access and success for Washington’s current and former foster youth by providing opportunities to:

  • Connect with other professionals committed to strengthening the post-secondary pipeline
  • Share promising strategies and best practices aimed at improving the educational outcomes of youth in and alumni of care
  • Acquire skills, tools and resources that advance professional development and program performance
  • Inspire one another with stories of success and ideas for innovation

This convening offers the 40+ state colleges participating in the program, community-based organizations, government agencies and policy makers the opportunity to provide cross system training, share best practices and develop strategic relationships aimed at strengthening the post-secondary pipeline for current and former foster youth.

MAY 10: At A Glance

Join the Washington Student Achievement Council and College Success Foundation to celebrate the Passport program, past and future. We will:

  • Reflect on 10 years of improving student outcomes and what we have learned
  • Communicate information about Passport program updates and important changes
  • Celebrate the passage of 2SSB 6274 which provides for major program expansion and begin a discussion about implications for students and stakeholders

This celebration will be followed by an afternoon training specifically for post-secondary partners related to program requirements and implementation.
